With rates starting at $0.40 per audio minute, Babbletype offers competitive pay for its transcriptionists.

To be recruited, you will have to go through three steps. You must first take and pass the transcription test, interview with the company, and then go through another assessment!

BabbleType also asks that you are available to transcribe one hour of audio files at least four days a week. Each day you would make $24 for one hour of work or about $96 a week. 

And since you can work from home, you’ll be able to set your own hours and take on as much or as little work as you want and make money typing.

We couldn’t find a pay rate for jobs with them on their site.

It offers a flexible schedule and competitive pay based on the accuracy of your work. In addition, SigTrack provides its contractors with training and support to ensure that they’re providing accurate and up-to-date information.

16. GoTranscript

GoTranscript is a thriving online transcription and translation business based in the U.K., but they provide transcription and translation jobs to freelancers worldwide.

They are always on the lookout for new freelancers to add to their team and keep up with demand from clients for transcription of audio files and video files.

They pay competitive rates of up to $0.60 a video or audio minute. Their website says they have average monthly earnings of $150. Payments for transcription work are made every Friday.

17. Aberdeen Typing

Aberdeen is a subtitling, captioning, and translation service company that employs people to type up these services for broadcast firms. They require all applicants to take a typing test as part of the hiring process.

This is an excellent way for stay-at-home parents, retirees, or anyone looking for extra income to make money and have a typing speed of at least 180 words per minute.

You must also have real-time captioning software, three phone lines, and a backup connection to the Internet to work as a captioner.
